Robert Capa
Robert Capa was considered the World’s Greatest War Photographer, though he truly did not like war whatsoever. He was born in 1913, with the name Andre Friedmann, later changing his name to Robert Capa. He was born to two Jewish parents and later in life decided to study political science at Deutsche Hochshule in Berlin. In 1933 he settled in Paris, France. He took pictures of the Spanish Civil War and capture very intimate moments. He took photos of people, with all different emotions. There are a lot of hardships that occur during war time and Robert Capa really provided evidence of this through his photographs. There were five wars that he covered. One of my favorite pictures of his was a woman holding a flower out in front of soldiers with guns pointing at her. (The one above)
I feel that I can connect to Robert Capa’s photography because his photos have a lot of strong emotions behind them. There are many pictures of soldiers and the struggles they faced. With his photographs you can see the fear and panic that war brings, but also how some people are brought together. For example, there is one picture of a wounded solider that I looked at. With the wounded solider stood another solider who looked to be wrapping his arm up. This shows the great care battle men take for each other.
